Gold Bee Earrings (Inspired by The Queen of Attolia) {Delightfully Creative}

Lately, I've been posting details about the handmade gifts I gave to my sister in her Book/Nerd-Girl gift stash. Here are earrings I made her, inspired by a character in one of her most favorite books (and mine)- The Queen of Attolia by Megan Whalen Turner.

In the novel, the Queen has two pairs of earrings that are barely mentioned, but are pretty important to the story (the way they are barely mentioned but emphasized is one showcase of Turner's brilliance). She has a pair of gold bee earrings, which are highly symbolic to her character and a pair of ruby earrings which are great hints and foreshadowings.

I decided to combine the two for my sister. I thought combining them was highly symbolic too-a certain character connected to the ruby earrings makes her a better person, but she's still the queen bee!

I presented them on vintage-looking card stock because it seemed appropriate for the novel.
