My baby is 6 months old. It's hard to believe! I vow to complete her nursery by the time she is one. Seriously. I didn't have the luxury of setting up her nursery before she was born because we knew we were going to move a month after.
I will be slowly posting the progress and then the whole room when it is complete.
I am decorating her room in a whimsical bird theme of light turquoise, light green, pale yellow, and fuchsia.
I finished her mobile last week and we hung it up this weekend.
I love how it turned out and it cost less than $10 to make.
I am using the following fabrics in her room, so you will see a lot of these.
| multi and pink: Tea Garden by Dena; green: Joann Fabrics; blue and yellow: Hobby Lobby; others: can't remember, they are scraps |
I painted the inside of an embroidery hoop white for the mobile's base and tied it to a ring using ribbon. The ring hangs from a hook in the ceiling.
I found the wood birds at Michael's for $1 each and covered them in fabric using fabric Mod Podge. I tied them on with fishing wire because I wanted to give the look of birds flying around.
The miniature birdhouse was also $1 at Michael's. I covered it in Washi tape, inspired by these bird houses.
Delightfully Creating,

So funny...I'm slowly decorating our nursery, too. I went on bed rest earlier than I expected, so I didn't get much done beforehand. I just hung some more pictures this weekend. :)
ReplyDeleteI love that mobile! I want to make one with origami cranes, but I can't decide how to hang them. Yours looks really cute like that. I love the ribbon and all your fabrics!
Beautiful mobile and great idea! Thanks for linking up to our Pretty Things Party. Hope to see you back next week!
