I love the challenge of putting together a costume cheaply and I did this one for $5!!!
Here's How:
I used clothes I already had that looked somewhat piratey-bermuda shorts and a black cami over a white blouse with puffy sleeves.
I bought all the accessories at the dollar store: two red scarves, toy sword, handkerchief, and monkey.
I tied the scarves together for a sash/sword holder.
I bought a piratey looking handkerchief with skulls on it and tied it in a piratey fashion.
Clearly, the monkey is the best part of my costume. I made him a head wrap by cutting a piece off my own handkerchief (the part that tied under, so you couldn't see where I cut). Then I made him an eye patch with construction paper and yarn. Then, of course, gave him a hook made of foil.
His name is Gen and he demands your respect!
Delightfully Creating Fun Costumes,

What fun! I hope you had a great time. Stopping from SITS!
ReplyDeleteOr, if Gen is anything like his namesake, he could care less if he has your respect or not but you can't help giving it to him anyways.
ReplyDeleteI have been so busy this week I was not able to read your blog until now and I missed a ton. Including a poll. At least your not getting rid of the book reviews.
